In the first part of this blog I published the theoretical part of this subject this blog presents the calculation part of "Optics" , i.e. Red Shift
So here we go,
Let's start with the basic concept , most of the universe i.e. 92% of universe is made of Hydrogen , and as compared to hydrogen helium is present in 40:3.1 ratio so we will be considering the calculations about Hydrogen-Helium mixture in 40:3.1 volume ratio

Equivalent refractive index of the mixture ---
For Red Light -1.0001358654 1067285382 8306264501 160092807
For Violet Light -1.0001535979 3503480278 4222737819 025522042
If we consider the angel of incidence as 1Rad then we are put forward to the following calculations(the calculations are approximated up to 10 significant figures)
After First Refraction(Enter The Medium)
r(red)=0.9999999999853851
r(violet)=0.9997884657515493
After Second Refraction(Exit The Medium)
i'(red)=1.000239259
i'(violet)=0.9999999999
So this creates a phase difference of
p.d.=0.0002392591(rad)
This is not a big difference, but the nearest star to earth is approximately 39 light years away i.e. 39 E+12 km
That would create a vast difference,
So, path difference is, p.d.'=8.8272252354 E+10 km
This shows we can never get those readings which are blue or near to blue in the spectrum.....
We can call it a huge "Red Shift"
For calculations a high precision scientific calculator based on 64 bit O.S. is used , so no need to doubt the values. They are not accurate. But more accuracy is not needed because the order of magnitude is 10
Please give comments, really useful !!
